“The American Dream”: An Analysis of Suburban Life

“The American Dream” is an analysis of the suburban atmosphere and the mechanisms that keep the illusion alive. The first portion of my thesis was dedicated to documenting the suburbs and collecting various stories and phenomenons related to the suburban scene. At the end of the research phase, we were asked to construct a book of our findings. The images and diagrams are a conglomeration of these phases and serves as a visual investigation of suburban life.

The American suburb is known for its monotony and visciuos repetition of forms. Subtle differences may suggest originality from house to house, but overall the forms remain relatively unchanged.
